The crystallised residues of a Shawafa (Morrocan Witches) technique of sorcery and divination are laid over a mirror which has been hand scratched with a metrological grid, an instrument used by Eadward Muybridge in his backdrops for photography as well a colonial instrument utilised to display racialised bodies.
The grid calls us to dissect the object which lays over it, this time an impossible process without a Moroccan Shawafa mediator.
